Joel Alter

President and founder

Joel earned a master’s degree in applied economics from Barcelona School of Economics (BSE), in Barcelona, Spain, and masters in business administration (MBA) from Forman Christian College.

Before joining the BSE, Joel worked as a Mergers and Acquisition Analyst at the Competition Commission of Pakistan

Dr. Iram Joel

Vise President

Dr Iram did her doctorate in statistics at NCB&E University in Pakistan. She went on to do her research work at the University of Waterloo in Canada. In 2019 she joined the statistics department at Forman Christian college as an assistant professor. Dr Iram has great expertise in academic research, having had fourteen of her papers published in academic journals. Iram is looking forward to championing the cause of the marginalized Christians in Pakistan and strongly believes in education as a basic human right.

Finance Secretary

Mr Alter served as a member of the Federal Minority Advisory Council Pakistan and was later elected as a district councillor of the Christian community in Sheikhupura (Punjab) Pakistan. During his tenure as a government official Mr Alter served the Christian community with passion and courage. He raised the basic problems of Christian community to high-ranking government officials. Later he joined the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority as a protocol officer. According to Mr Alter, “The Christian community in Pakistan is lagging in education. Education is the only way out for the Christians in Pakistan. AHF will play an important role to bring stability, affordability, and respectful living to the Christian

Nasir Shakeel

General Secretary

Mr Nasir Shakeel is a lecturer who teaches chemistry at the Higher Education Department, Pakistan. He earned a Master of Philosophy degree in Chemistry from the Forman Christian College in Pakistan. 

Nasir experienced many challenges throughout his education. The lack of affordable, quality education was perhaps the foremost of those challenges. Nasir comes from a family of limited means, but God worked through his people to provide financial support for Nasir to complete his education. Nasir envisions AHF playing a big role in bringing many Christians out of the poverty.

Shumaila Yousaf

Joint Secretary

Shumaila did her Master of Science in Physics from International University Islamabad Pakistan. Currently, she is working as a lecturer at Base College Wah Cantt. She has vast experience in the education sector. Her dream is to see underprivileged Christian children getting basic education and becoming successful in life.

Persiclla Tariq

Information Secretary

Persiclla earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Riphah International University, Pakistan and currently working in a firm in Rawalpindi. Perscilla´s aspiration in life is to help Christian community in Pakistan through education and this is the reason she joins AHF.

Brent Meyers

Co-founder

Pastor of Vila Lliure, a new church in Barcelona.

BA degree in Economics from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA.

Masters of Divinityfrom Westminster Seminary California.

He feels privileged to be a part of AHF and looks forward to seeing how God will use it to lift up the forgotten and downtrodden.

Daniel Brandl

Master’s degree in Food Technology and Biotechnology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany

Daniel was a member of the ‘ICF Rio de Janeiro’ church in Brazil and served as a teacher in an educational project to support the marginalized children.

Business partner for Duke classics (A company which sells cars)

Daniel believes that education is the key to stomping out poverty.

Wes Carpenter

Co-founder

Wes serves as a pastor of Grace Bible Church in Houston, Texas. He marshals the resources of the congregation so that they can be utilized at a larger scale for the good of the Christ´s church around the world.

Wes holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from the Oxford University.

He and his wife Maddie have two young boys.

Noel Alter

Advisor

Mr Noel Alter has a double master’s in Applied Economics and Public Administration from Forman Christian College in Pakistan and the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. For the last 12 years he has been teaching as a lecturer in economics at the Higher Education Department for the government of Pakistan. During his educational and professional career, he has observed that Pakistani society is not cordial and fair towards religious minorities. In their quest to receive an education, Christian students must go through many difficulties such as financial constraints, social stigma, socioeconomic class differences and religious discrimination.
